TEMPORARY TEACHING POSITIONS

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

 

Area of Specialization: Advanced Computer Aided Design Using Solidworks

Temporary part-time academic teaching positions are available in the Department of Mechanical Engineering during the 2007-08 academic year. Lecturer appointments will range from one quarter to one year, with the possibility of reappointment for up to two years dependent on performance and departmental needs.  Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate ollective bargaining agreement. Appointments in other temporary teaching titles shall be for one year with the possibility of reappointment in accordance with applicable personnel policies and availability of funding. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

 

Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent area; at least one year of teaching experience is preferred. Applicants must have demonstrated expertise with the design of complex machines using Soldiworks including: advanced modeling, generation of drawing packages, critical dimensioning and tolerancing and interfacing Solidworks models with other engineering software. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the Department for one year.
