LAW AND SOCIETY PROGRAM

 

Areas of Specialization: Qualitative Socio-Legal Research Methods; Law & Culture; Sociological & Anthropological Approaches to Law; Political Theory; Jurisprudence; Comparative Law; Middle Eastern Socio-legal Topics; Alternative Dispute Resolution; Media, Technology & Law; Gender, Race, Sexuality & Law.

 

Applications are invited for possible lecturer appointments in 2007-08 in the above-mentioned areas.  Appointments will be made on a quarterly basis.  Reappointment for subsequent quarters is dependent on performance and departmental needs.   

 

Applicants must possess a PhD in a social science or other terminal degree in law and be prepared to teach Law & Society majors in one of the substantive areas noted above, and have at least one year teaching experience or experience in supervising interns.  Salary is dependent upon qualifications.  Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the department for two years.  The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.  Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement.
