ASSISTANT SPECIALIST POSITION
GEVIRTZ RESEARCH CENTER
GEVIRTZ GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
The position will be open until filled.
Applications are invited for a full-time position as an Assistant Specialist for coordinating and implementing the Supplemental Education Services Program, recruiting and training tutors, supervising tutors in the field, organizing assessments and instructional materials, contacting parents and school representatives, evaluating program activities, and developing program reports/presentations. These activities will be performed under the auspices of the Gevirtz Research Center.
This is a temporary position in accordance with applicable personnel policies and availability of funding. Applicants should possess a Masters Degree and (preferably) a Teaching Credential. Applicants should have previous experience teaching or tutoring students, working with English Language Learners and their families, coordinating educational programs, and providing professional development in education. The ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience at the Assistant Specialist level. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
