Temporary Teaching Position

Applications are invited for a temporary academic teaching position to teach Engineering 101, Engineering Ethics, for the Winter and Spring Quarters of the 2009-10 academic year. Appointments beyond the 2009-10 academic year may be possible depending upon performance and departmental needs.
Engineering 101 is a required course of some majors with the College of Engineering. The course cover topics including: Ethical and moral reasoning, ethical issues surrounding the development of new technologies, the engineer’s role in society, and ethics in professional practice, Case studies are used to facilitate the comprehension of the concepts introduced.
Applicants should posses a minimum of a Master’s Degree (Ph.D. preferred) and at least one year of teaching experience. Salary is dependant upon qualifications. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching and service.
