Evaluation Coordinator

California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI)

The Evaluation Coordinator at CNSI manages a complex program that administers the design and execution of a variety of data collection measures to assess the quality and broader impact of STEM (science, technology, engineering and technology) programs and partnerships at UCSB. The incumbent is responsible for administering the qualitative and quantitative tools necessary to evaluate education outreach programs at CNSI, (California Nanosystems Institute) the ICMR (International Center for Materials Research) and the CONVENE  IGERT (Integrated Graduate Education and Research Training) at UCSB, all  funded by the NSF (National Science Foundation).  These evaluation tools include interview protocols and surveys in Spanish, requiring bilingual skills and understanding of the cultural issues that may affect academic achievement.  She/he provides training and technical assistance to all education CNSI staff engaged in these programs to ensure integrity and adequacy of data capture. The coordinator reports to the Education Director at CNSI.

Desired Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Education, Statistics or Physical Sciences

Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative research data

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) in both oral and written communication

Extensive knowledge of US education standards in science, engineering and mathematics disciplines

Experience in advanced computing and database management
