Temporary Lecturer
Area of Specialization: Chicana/o and Latina/o art studio, art history, theatre, film and politics.
The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at UC Santa Barbara invites applications for its part-time lecturer pool for the 2009-2010 Academic Year in Chicana/o and Latina/o art studio, art history, theatre, film and politics. Successful applicants will have a Ph.D., M.F.A., or J.D. in the field of Chicana/o Studies or in a discipline relevant to the Department’s teaching needs, with at least one year teaching experience in Chicana/o Studies or related field. Preference will be given to applicants holding a Ph.D. who have record of effective teaching in lecture courses. Salaries are based on qualifications. Our department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching and research interests.
Applications will be kept active for all appropriate vacancies within the department for two years. After two years, applicants must resubmit materials to retain eligibility. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Positions will remain open until filled. Applications received by August 1, 2009 will receive primary consideration.
