TEMPORARY LECTURER POSITIONS (2009-2010)

Area of Specialization: Sociocultural Anthropology & Biosocial Anthropology and Archaeology

 

Applications are invited for anticipated temporary Lecturer positions (part-time) for the academic year of 2009-2010, subject to availability of funding and departmental needs. Areas of specialization are socio-cultural anthropology, bio-social anthropology and archeology.

 

Probable course include: Anth 109 Human Universals, Anth 119 Household Archeology, Anth 112T Genetics, Natural Selection, and Human Evolution, Anth 137 Ancient Maya, Anth 153T Primate Behavior, Anth 187 The Clash of Cultures, and Anth 196 Archeology of Religion.

 

Preference will be given to applications that hold the Ph.D. and have demonstrated effectiveness in lecture courses. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching and research. Positions will remain open until filled, but applicants are advised to submit their applications with materials listed below by June 15, 2009 for primary consideration.

 

The department will keep active applications for all appropriate vacancies for one year. Applicants must resubmit materials each academic year to retain eligibility. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Salary based on qualifications.
